Tout Pour Plaire and Les Poupees Russes are two of my preferred contemporary French movies...I should have bought Tout Pour Plaire before I left France. Do you know of any place to buy French films that weren't released in the US back home? I might just have to face up and order off of amazon.fr and pay outrageous shipping fees.
Les Poupees Russes... love that movie.
Yes "Les Poupees Russes" was a great movie, but nothing compared to the first movie.
Also, amazon.ca would be a good place to buy french movies. Apparently, "Tout Pour Plaire" is being released on 5 September, and I don't think they'd charge too expensive shipping fees.
hi
how is that, that boyfriends/husbands on other live-in males somehow never have time to bore the hole in the wall? you know, i'm waiting for a mirror to be hung in my bathroom... you think i'll have to hang it myself? hm :/
Hey, I watched "Tout pour plaire" the other night right after posting this, and lo and behold near the end of the film Mathilde Seigner uses a power tool to drill holes in her apartment as a sign of her independence from men! How funny. She used protective goggles though. I guess I should have also. Oh well. So yes, Anonymous, I think you should hang it yourself! Just wear protection.
True, "Poupées russes" isn't as good as the first one, but it's fun to see all the characters again. Good lord but Wendy got hot once she lost some weight and grew out her hair!
I also can't decide if I think Romain Duris is hot or not. I'm perpetually on the fence.
I have the same issue with Romain Duris...in fact I spent most of Le Divorce swinging between ooh he's lovely..and...ooh he's scruffy and dirty.. yuck!!
Yes I know what you mean too - in
auberge espagnole and poupees russe romain duris is too neat, dweeby, straight and tucked-in and he needs to grow out his locks, but in gadjo dilo and exils where is he more of a free spirit, and notably in the sexy fruit scene in exils - i think i'd say `yes' if he made a relevant declaration...
I think that's probably quite a useful quality for an actor to have - to be able to fluctuate between weedy non-event and sexy must-have.
I'd like to buy the Canadian DVD of Tout Pour Plaire but I don't speak French.
Is it subtitled? Does the disc have a track of English Subtitles?
I Would really appreciate your help.
Thanks.
